  2. LIU Xin picked the wrong guy to explain this. He has been out of the west for 34 years so he no longer has any day to day contact to the west. He sounded more like a spokesman for China than someone who represents the West. Remember, not that long ago mainland China and The United States were allies. Something had to change that for the worse The U.S. had a very vicious war with Japan and now Japan and the United States are allies (along with South Korea). The issue isn't culture, the U.S.'s oldest diplomatic connection in Asia is Thailand.
