@MetaView7 Italy has a large trade deficit with China and that is not healthy over the long term.

@MetaView7 In order for China to pay it's bills, it will have to outsell it's trade partners. Win-Win is an advertising slogan but it is not reality. Italy can only reduce it's trade imbalances by reducing import trade with China or reducing the value of it's currency, which is impossible because they are locked into the Euro.

@MetaView7 China is not a significant source of income for Italy. Italy makes far more money on trade with the United States as they run a large trade surplus with the U.S.

Italy has increased exports to China but the base problem is higher wage economies will have a more difficult time competing with lower wage countries (China is finding this out with Vietnam). This is nothing new, Great Britain had the same problem back in the 1920's due in part to having the P:ound Sterling at a higher valuation. Exports became more difficult. The issue becomes job loss and slowing economic growth and politicians get an earful about it everyday. How many BMW's get exported to China from Germany versus how many are sold through BMW's Chinese factories?

Germany loses money on every sale it makes to China. Granted it's better than the U.S.'s trade deficit with China which is just a nightmare.
