I didn't see his comments as racist, he was quite clear in what he was discussing, that Europe has developed a more orderly civilization. What he did do is hit a cord in others that made them realize they haven't.

I have watched African merrily brutalize each other for decades. No one forced them to do it, they did it on their own.

Excellent!

@hassenyahyaoui3980 His comments were broad and he wasn't speaking of just Africa. Africa is not the only place that has jungles. Considering how many Africans are fleeing Africa, he wouldn't be that far off.
2
@Sovoko65 Yes. There was a phrase said in the United States "That it is a jungle out there". This was said without regard to time, place or people. It was a way of saying life can be pretty rough, be ready for it. I think Borrell was just warning to the young, you take care of what you have or you could lose it. And that has been pretty much throughout history, around the world.
2
@samwariso Libya was not a smart move. Africa has been corrupt and poorly run. Africa for Africans pretty much failed. I explained my view on Borell's comments to SOVOKO!!! on this thread so I am not going to repeat them.
2
@abdourazakndeze4157 I realize colonizer is this year's hip term, there is more to life than the egos of Africans. There are other people in the world and they see things' differently. For someone like Borrell who was born right after World War 2, his view of the jungle and chaos may be different from yours. What goes on in Ukraine now could be seen as the jungle coming in. Again, it's not always about you.
2
@samwariso "Whether Africa is corrupt or poorly run is none of your business. " You and your kind constantly ranting make it everyone's business.

Since the first record of history was written, the world was ruled by King Leopolds. And that included the little brown people who never missed out on the fun.

The Europeans played the same game as everyone else, they just got better at it.

@Bharatraag Russia was one of the original players... ever read history?
1
@Bharatraag India just put up a statute to Bose, a man who pandered to both Adolf Hitler and the Imperial Japanese to benefit the Indians. If Indian would put up a statute to man who pandered to genocidal maniacs, it doesn't say much about India that is good. By the way, the U.S. did push the British for Indian independence. Russia killed it's own people and they have attacked the Ukrainians more than once as the Soviet Union. But it appears Indians aren't bothered by such a thing.

Borrell was speaking of the chaos that goes on in the world. He was just pointing out Europe is at a place where an order has been created that others haven't achieved yet.
1
@jncc1701 I had looked into the history of China and a lot of people died in their orderly society. The world has never been an orderly place. Borrell's comments were blown out of proportion, he was saying Europe is doing a lot better than others. And they are. I think some of the critical comments come from sensitive people who know he is right.
1
@jncc1701 You strike me as a man desperately trying to find an argument. Good luck in your great hunt.
1
@jncc1701 There are a lot of dumb argumentative women out there too. I stand corrected.
1
@user-di5mw3ev8l "the USA has laws that described the African as 1/5th of a humn being." 3/5, not 1/5.

She rants a lot but comes from a country that likes being neutral while others die for them.
1
The fact you generate so many refugees is an indicate you are in a "jungle".
1
If you had half a brain you'd admit he is more right than wrong.
1
@johnlui9563 China does the same thing, that they have a system superior to all others. For China, freedom and democracy is a jungle and their nice orderly system is the way yo go.
1
@_method_5877 It must be difficult for you to accept people like are not always the center of everyone thoughts.
1
@_method_5877 The way people like you have responded. Jungle is just a way of saying chaotic. I even heard back when I was a kid jungle was used to describe actions within the country, with other countries or just groups fighting against each other. Sort of like those wildlife films you see about animals in a real jungle.
1
@_method_5877 You got on this thread didn't you?

@tausifnazim5048 Gallons of blood spilled is part of human history. Europe was invaded and has invaded. Borrell's comments were directed at European kids(?) on the state of Europe now and reminding them conditions change. In a sense, going on about genocides is pointless because all there were was genocides for 1,000's of years around the globe. Ancient kings would brag about how many they killed and how miserable they made the survivors.
1
@laosasean8482 A lot of blood was spilled in India and China back when they were wearing silk robes. These countries became united after a lot of butchery, rape and mayhem.
1
@Laliऽa-d3k I can see you slept through history class in school.
1
@tausifnazim5048 'May the skulls and bones from children's mass graveyard beneath the soil of Canada." Please find them because no one else.
1
@keed2222 You will like China. They all think the same. Whether they like it or not, they better.
1
@ድንቅነሽ-ቘ2መ If George Floyd wasn't dealing in drugs, counterfeiting money and not threatening a pregnant woman, Floyd would be alive today. The policeman paid for his action.
1
@arash8761 I'd say most Europeans would agree during World War 2 Europe was quite the jungle.

She lives in a land where there is little chance she will suffer from Russian open window syndrome.

Do you think for one minute the Ex colonies wouldn't have done it if they could? You need to read world history, from the first empires on.
1
@TheTarasbarabas I am speaking about the real world. Plus the jungle goes beyond anything colonial. Like in the past, you could say a lot of nice things and in a few years you're in a war. Once nations are moved to act, it doesn't matter if you had great relations for centuries, war happens.
