  2. If you are a chip supplier and you are supplying multiple companies, you do not want to create a situation where you are giving away your customer's design secrets to each other. Most companies will not use the chip maker's off the shelf design solution, they will add their own touches to make their product a bit different. Still, as a component supplier you have to act in a neutral manner when you supplying multiple manufacturers.
