  2. I have heard this all before and it sounds like the same script I have heard many times before. Ronald Reagan was a good president, never cut back on many programs and his tax cuts let the American economy go into overdrive, With his cuts tax revenue went up and the Democrat controlled congress spent it as fast as the money rolled in. They never filled their part of the bargain they made with Reagan, to slow down or reduce federal spending. The world economy has changed radically since Reagan and China is now the 800 lb gorilla in the room. This requires a whole new approach to trade policy, free trade must be phased out and replaced with regulated trade in a manner that benefits the U.S. without damaging the world economy at the same time. I would suggest the spoiled Baby Boomers became the Democrats who set up and endless array of government programs and never worried about the bills. The Republicans as of late have been too lose with spending. I am hoping this time Trump does tame government spending. As for the Cold War, for most it became background noise.
