  2.  @briantresden2933  The focus is not on states. Rather it's on cities as well as certain areas within those cities that have very high concentrations of gun crimes. Those areas are blue. Also per capita is not what we're going to use. We're going to use total numbers. Those are highest in big blue cities.

If you want to make a dent in overall gun crime, you focus on the areas where the numbers are the highest overall. This is pretty basic stuff here. Plus it's bizarre to use per capita. If one domestic-related gun crime happens in a tiny town, would you really try to claim it's more dangerous than the worst areas of Chicago? I don't think so.

That being said, you're position doesn't hold up with per capita either. Take a look at the lost of mose dangerous neighborhoods in the US where the per capita numbers are highest. Very partial listing is East St Louis - City Center, Jackson TN - James Buchanan Drive, Atlanta, Georgia - McDaniel and Mary St, Detroit - Wyoming and Orangelawn St, etc.
