Why is it "sick"? Only two countries in the developed world (The US and Canada) have "birthright citizenship". Let that sink in. Think about that. What's really going on here? What's up? Democrats want more votes. That's the bottom line. Everyone needs to be crystal clear here. We need a very open and very honest discussion.

It's not required by the Constitution. No. It's not.

@duckheadbob Not so. There is the developed world and there is the non-developed world. All countries are not on the same level from a maturation standpoint. Maybe in Narnia that's the case, but not in reality. Unregulated mass immigration is having very very severe impacts on cities all across the country. There are not enough resources to handle the influx. City and state budgets are being torpedoed. We're seeing huge increases in competition for limited housing supply in the cities and rents are also being driven up. Social safety nets are being stretched thin. Look how quickly so called "sanctuary cities" change their tunes when problems land right on their doorstep and they have to find money to mitigate! Every country on earth has the right to enforce its immigration laws and control its borders. We can too. We can do that.

It's not required by the Constitution. There would be no violation.

@MrGruffteddybear That's not true. Read "Does the Constitution Mandate Universal Birthright Citizenship? Here's the Answer" by Amy Swearer published on May 24, 2019 by The Heritage Foundation.

@MrGruffteddybear You sound like a liberal to me. My constitutional position is correct and your position is wrong.

@MrGruffteddybear I see your knee jerk defense mechansim. You're dealiing with someone who is very sophisticated here. That's not going to work on me. Sorry.
