In a few years, Big Monopolistic Tech will be treated and regulated like a common carrier (I.e. telecommunications). It will no longer be able to engage in dystopian 1984-style censorship. Strange that some people are perfectly fine with just a few billionaire plutocrats having near complete control over the free and open dissemination of information on our world today.

This is great! Big Monopolistic Tech is going to continue to get slammed with lawsuits. Within a few years, they will be unable to engage in 1984 Orwellian censorship. They will be regulated like common carriers (I.e. the phone system).

@snebold That's small time, though. Big Tech has a near monopoly on communication given the scale, reach and stratospheric user base. That's why it will be regulated like a common carrier.

@Byron Smith Yes we can force a company to spend money to promote a message they don't want to support. That's done all the time. The telephone and cellular companies have to give everyone the right to speak. They can't deny access because somebody is conservative or liberal for that matter. On the flipside, it's odd that all these "big government" folks don't want to force companies to act as government agents.
