  1. The more women are educated by shows like this the better prepared they are to avoid these types. I appreciate this content. They are predators and when they shower you with attention (love bombing) in the beginning, it is hard to recognize the red flags. When there is excessive attention in the beginning of a relationship it is a GIANT RED FLAG. If they tell you a sad story to try and gain sympathy, it is ANOTHER GIANT RED FLAG. Empathetic people are the their favorite target. Empaths frame of reference is often others feel the same level of empathy as they do, when in truth, being too empathetic towards others makes you an easy target. It is sort of naivety even though it is a desired trait (versus narcissistic). A personality disordered person can smell an empathetic person a mile away.

  2. I had a similar experience with a Sociopath. My con lasted five years; and he still hadn’t asked for money-yet. I had been to his house, met friends, lots of identity fraud involved. Turns out he used an alias, the house was a rental, and he had either paid or manipulated others to validate his identity. Including a sister. The entire relationship, from the beginning, was a con. It is hard to wrap your head around. All the family and stories he told me, his career, all of it-lies. He was a legitimate Sociopath. He is 57 years old now living in GA conning someone else. He will never stop-the con is the source of fuel for these types. Targets single mothers just like this a$$hole. They know no other way, born without a conscience.

Doctors do not know everything-a rare presentation really throws them. A lot of cancers mimic so many other illnesses and at a young age-lung cancer, colon cancer, etc…it isn’t even on their radar.   6. I dated a Sociopath and it was awful and traumatizing and I do not believe they can be treated psychologically. He has left a destructive path throughout his life. He had a false identity, had a fake home, fake job, just a pathological liar! I completely stopped dating after this experience.

  7. I met someone exactly like that, flood of texts, selfies, gifts, etc….the one I have been waiting for! Complete sociopath-had a false identity and found out he had been married over 30 yrs. I didn’t give him an ultimatum I told him to eff off and never contact me again. He is going to end up just like this guy. He could win an academy award for his acting skills!   25. I dated one of these type for FIVE YEARS!!! Fake name, fake house, fake career, fake IDs, fake friends and family. Never stole anything from me either; but was a complete fake in every way. A very skilled actor. In the end, I too had to hire a P.I. to learn the truth. Even when I learned it I could not accept it; I mean I ended it immediately but it took much longer to understand what happened. Only when I learned more about personality disorders and studied them did I start to grasp how my reality was altered. Like this woman I was a single mother and had a gut feeling every now and then that things didn’t add up. I could have never, ever imagined what the truth turned out to be. It could have been way worse for me and my kids. I am grateful every single day.

She wanted desperately to believe him, he probably flooded her with positive attention anytime she confronted him (that they meant nothing to him, that SHE was the only person he truly loved). They can convince any one of anything-they are magnificent actors. I agree though, cheaters do not change. If they disrespect you enough to cheat then they definitely will do it again. I learned that the hard way. Some people do deserve second chances though, none of us are perfect. It certainly doesn’t mean she deserved to be murdered. The guy is a psychopath.   30. I am so sorry the doctors allowed you to hear their argument outside your hospital door. Highly unprofessional and something hospitals have had to address, unfortunately with policies to protect privacy and patients. I am an experienced Medical Technologist (laboratory) and it is extremely difficult to differentiate Mononucleosis and Leukemia. I worked in a clinic on campus and seen it missed by experienced technologists. I happened to work in Pediatric cancer prior to my campus job and looked at the slide the next time a patient just like you presented and knew it wasn’t Mono. I could definitely see WHY it was missed-that age group always has positive Mono and their cells look all kind of crazy. Sometimes their platelet counts even drop (mimicking a common leukemia symptom). I knew the difference by scanning the entire slide and also by the symptoms that not only platelets were dropping but also hemoglobin and hematocrit (red blood cells) that it was not Mono. Leukemia blasts (the cancer cells) look different than the reactive cells seen on a slide from a Mono patient but the difference is subtle, a difference only techs that have seen hundreds of cancer cells might detect. The other issue is that childhood cancer is so extremely rare it throws off caregivers as an initial diagnostic possibility. I am so sorry for your experience at diagnosis. Hopefully that scenario wouldn’t still happen today but I still suspect it happens.

  42. Something’s not right. Get a second opinion or get a referral to Infectious Disease, Rheumatology or Hematology/Oncology. If they haven’t found abnormal labs you may need scans or at least further bloodwork. It could be something autoimmune. It could be Mono, it could be thyroid or other hormone related disorders, it may even could be cancer but get a second opinion.

He slept with his ex wife while his current girlfriend’s home (and almost her) got burned down. Not sure if I was her, I would have even gotten involved with someone who had a ex spouse that was this psycho. RIP to this guy but you have to wonder about why a man could allow himself to be seduced-that is sickening in this instance, especially. No one thinking about the children in this crazy-making.

  45. I also agree-all hormonal affiliated symptoms. Usually those integrative medical doctors run a ton of hormone tests. I worked for a general practice and it wasn’t that uncommon for our docs to run a 24 hour urine test on patients. Hard to understand how she was not diagnosed sooner.

  47. Noticing unintended weight loss or changes in your bowel habits are key and if you are dismissed find a new doctor. Easily bruising, paleness, fatigue can also be symptoms. A change in your gait can be a symptom, blurred vision as well. Many of these can also be indications of other disorders-but these are some of the ones I have seen that presented to clinic.

How did China, Korea, Italy have tests available that could diagnose COVID 19 so rapidly and we had few to none, and duds at that in the beginning. Are numbers are falsely low. Our results are taking too long. Not acceptable when there are other countries modeling successful antiviral spread that we could have learned by! Especially having test kits available with rapid turn around.

  67. I worked in a children’s cancer clinic for many years. I was completely captivated by the story of his grief. His articulation of grief as a parent was perfection. It was a job I have held in my heart and miss every single day. Everything else pales in comparison. We loved and fought for them all. Most of them made it or I couldn’t have done it. Healthy coping mechanisms are a necessity. I bet his son’s journey touched many lives of his caregivers too.

I don’t know…I definitely would want the option myself but I sure could see the other side of it as well. What difference does a few weeks or months make if you are dying anyway?   72. I have heard physicians over the years as I’ve worked say those same words “if you don’t hear from us, then it was all normal” or whatever. Out of earshot of the doc, I always told the patient to get a copy of their results-and an understanding of them. It is THEIR property, they are paying for it. Even with the amazing medical record keeping systems we have today, calls to patients sometimes get missed. Everyone is stressed in medicine because the undercutting of staff and time allotted per patient. You absolutely must be your own advocate. I am a medical technologist by trade and often patients don’t even know what tests we are doing on them. I have been told NOT to tell the patient what is being collected. Not okay! If the patient is being charged (or their insurance) then they should ALWAYS be informed regarding what is being drawn. I have had docs send people to the lab for DRUG TESTING and not tell the patient what is being drawn. They are going to sure as hell ask-especially without insurance. Not all labs are covered by insurance, sometimes even standard every day ones-depending on when it was done last. Coding is also extremely complicated. As a lab tech that is the one rule I continuously broke-I read off each lab and what it was for as I screened the patient for identity and told them if they didn’t hear back from us to CALL until they get the results. I can also state for a fact that the providers do not review your medical records prior to your appointment. There is no time for that and with 15 minutes to interact with you they may only glance at it if you are lucky. I am not faulting them but that is standard of care. You need to blurt out whatever significant history you have during your appt. One might assume all that detailed information you are asked to provide is carefully analyzed by your healthcare provider. It isn’t.😢

  89. My frame of reference is very skewed; I am empathetic to a fault. People manipulate me all the time no matter how self aware I am of my own vulnerabilities. I cannot seem to set healthy boundaries in any of my relationships. Work, kids, romantic, I just suck at it. Being aware of it and working on it doesn’t help; I default to my frame of reference that most people are good. So I cannot rely on my own intuition or intelligence to make good choices. It is embarrassing but at least now I accept who I am.

Didn’t love it but I got through it. The hardest part was others reactions…not being recognized. I shaved it completely bald at work surrounded by coworkers. I had cut my hair shorter in stages prior to chemo but nothing really prepares you for the gobs of hair just slipping off.🤢

It is standard of care for pediatric cancer., thank goodness! The first bone marrow is the worst because the marrow is packed with tumor cells.😢

I do want to believe some of his work but be wary he is selling a product and requires a large amount of money up front to be seen in one of his clinics. The scans he refers to are less detailed than the latest ones used in modern medical facilities. He also sells supplements. Anyway, take his charm and medical breakthroughs with a grain of salt.

He got fired and divorced over it. Most of the time their victims are too ashamed to speak up and it only helps them if they remain unexposed. They also tend to have severe revenge and I was petrified when I did it but I had to because he was employed through a nursing home and was filming some of the residents-claiming they were family members. Going into the memory unit into their private rooms and face-timing with them also. The families of these residents had no idea what he was doing. Anyway-I appreciate your delightful comment.   181. There isn’t very many, I have only seen one experimental research on You Tube that showed a tiny bit of promise. Normally the diagnosis cannot be made until age 18. No therapy has shown effectiveness on adults that I am aware of. They do not seek therapy on their own, and if court mandated it often leads to them learning more ways to be manipulative.

I can understand why people feel sorry for the lab animals but unfortunately it is very naive to not understand how it is absolutely necessary in order to bring new, life saving medications to the market. No disrespect, I know it comes from the heart, but it is naive. There are extremely rigid and ethical guidelines regarding conducting studies using animals (as well as humans). Millions of dollars are poured into research, and years of work required to even bring it to animal testing; animals are not just tortured and discarded like trash. Each contributes to the advancement of science. Animal laboratories are inspected and employees are educated annually (and tested) regarding their current knowledge regarding appropriate animal care and following protocols designed into each study which is approved by a board called the IRB. The IRB will reject studies that unnecessarily torture animals-people outside of medicine have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. I spoil all of my personal animals to a ridiculous extent like a lot of other animal lovers do, but people need to understand animal testing is avoided at all costs due to the extreme expense of conducting such research. It is not done to simply give a bunch of horrible human beings an opportunity to legally torture animals. That is a ridiculous accusation and as much as people would like to protest, like others mentioned in this thread-look in the mirror first. What do you consume that isn’t ethically sourced? Research is strictly monitored and has ethical treatment of animals factored into any study that is awarded approval from the IRB. Slaughter houses and factory farm raised animals are under far less scrutiny than laboratory research animals. There are not enough inspectors to even put a dent into the animal welfare violations that occur, even in the most compliant of facilities. The employees working there often work in extreme and dangerous conditions themselves. And yet I consume meat, so in essence I too am a hypocrite.

Although interesting, there hasn’t been any endorsement of Dr.Amen by any professional Psychiatry Associations, not adaptations made to the practice of Psychiatry. From what I understand, he claims he has a methodology only he uses, that he developed in part by looking at thousands of scans. If he can provide accurate diagnosis with his methodology, then he should and COULD publish those results so other Psychiatrists could validate his work. Other peers should be able to produce the same results using his methodology. I am not saying he doesn't help people but he also makes a great deal of money charging thousands for scans that are not covered by insurance and selling supplements. Which may be considered a conflict if interests. Anyway, I like his positivity and he is an excellent speaker, but he also very well could be a snake oil salesman, unfortunately.

Did all the behaviors you read about, love bombing, gas lighting, pathologically lying, attention seeking, playing a victim, triangulation, had gotten multiple people to play along that validated his false identity. Even rented a house to pretend it was his. Made a fake ID badge as part of his false career. I mean it was INSANE. I am not a psychologist or Psychiatrist so clearly I cannot “diagnose” him but he clicked nearly every box on Hare’s checklist. His behaviors followed along others who have experienced this type of personality disorder. I thought I had found the love of my life and in reality it was just an empty black hole that consumed me for five long years. He altered my reality. I had cognitive dissonance and no idea what I had gotten myself into. And I was lucky-as it turns out. He was non violent and he didn’t steal from me, or hurt my children. But the devastation it had on me did affect my life and I ended up with cancer and it was all so horrible. The stress he caused me was definitely a factor in my diagnosis. I will never be able to trust another man. I am still quite dysfunctional and trying to find myself. And this was like 6 years ago now. It was humiliating soul destroying.

Something similar happened to me except fortunately no baby was involved. There is a level of Narcissism among these types that helps explain their behavior; in understanding why they behave in this manner you come to realize it had nothing to do with you. You were manipulated and they are masters. Knowing how often it happens to others really helped me in my recovery. The Sociopath Next Door was a good book but there are dozens of free support sites on the internet such as Donna Anderson's work. Sorry for your loss, hope you will get to see your child again somehow.

There is an empty cavity inside of them. Their outrageous behavior is their attempt to feel something, anything. I am not sure I buy that this young man is a psychopath. Granted they are self absorbed, but he really comes across as just immature and actually quite evil. He had so many advantages that other children lack even though his parents divorced. Not the level of trauma that some of these types endure during childhood. I suppose he does meet the criteria in that he has no remorse and is making himself out as the victim. They were very “Christian” or whatever (they’re words not mine) and there was really no explanation provided to viewers. Not like they should be expected to provide one, but people do feel a connection when they watch your show often and become attached to you and your family. We often have to wrap hooves with treatments, using salves, padded materials-even baby diapers. We use duct tape to reinforce specially made horse boots as well. We need a tape that is flexible and super strong. The treatments or boots are changed usually every 24 hours. It has to endure high pressure and dirt and mud, and a good bit of wear. Which of those would you recommend based on your tests so far? I was thinking the T-Rex? We are using gorilla tape right now on our farm.

Either way, it is a prompt to get an exam and treatment! I had no symptoms except history of breast and prostate cancer in my family. So I got regular screens for that reason alone. And my brother got screened as well-for the same reason. We both caught our cancers early; before symptoms developed.🙌

I watched 100’s of young colon cancer patient You Tubes, and always…their very first symptom is changes in bowel movements. Sometimes fatigue. All I was offering is some of the early symptoms of possible cancer. Some people have no symptoms.

I imagine that might decrease efficiency, but if there was a screen, like made with titanium or something maybe it could prevent birds carcasses from being sucked directly into the fan blades in the first place. I have seen a few promising therapies used on very young or teenagers demonstrating psychopathic tendencies but rare. Lots of information on You Tube but also many good books out there on the subject. Many psychopaths learn enough regarding what behaviors are acceptable to stay out of jail, but without a conscience they continue to harm others.
