want to know more about that "ridiculous" blade . .
185
I had a pair of end snips -- what I called them -- that belonged to our great grandfather or perhaps grandfather or both. Blued, hardened steel. Both were surgeons, so maybe they had a different use than a typical pair of these. There was only an inside bevel. They sat flush to the surface if used to cut an extruding wire. They had finely etched or cut large cross-hatching on the curved handles, and were very comfortable to use. I could snip copper wire with them, but never considered cutting nails or screws. I used them to pry out nails and staples mostly. I treasure them.

may be interesting to compare full spectrum lights with fluoro and LED, incandescents, etc.
2
adding sugar into the oil is more likely to be a problem isnt it?
2
So you used virgin bits for each test? Quite an investment.
2
I spend extra to avoid everything made in China as far as possible.

gum, iron wood, elm. for best smelling burning head, mesquite.

bees wax to be thorough

Next CEM vs OEM

Ive found old cloth electrical tape on wiring over 75 years old that still has adhesion. Wonder what brand it was. Smells like tar.
1
Variability seems relative to the wood samples rather than the fasteners. Would be interesting to see these tests done with oak and teak where they are bound to have greater purchase. Very thorough vid as usual. It'd be interesting to examine cut nails versus wire type nails. They are available in all sizes ftom brads to framing. Tremont Nail Co. and Horton Brass both sell them. http://www.tremontnail.com/

that poor lawnmower! is that the same old one? she's seen it all if so.

@ProjectFarm : Merry Christmas!

Did you get the text re light bulbs on/off vs always on?
1
@ProjectFarm : Sure, the question is, do light bulbs last longer if left on vs being turned on and off constantly. I have had to replace a xenon bulb for over my RV camper stove three times in less than a month each. They advertise "LONGER LIFE 3,000 HOURS". When using the RV I'd have the stove light on about 8-10 hrs. Even at maximum 10 hr use, that's only 310 hrs. Poof. Leaving it on to test hasn't been an option so far. I noticed a story about an original Edison bulb in a NY fire engine station that has burned continuously since 1910 or something like that. That bulb filament was different from the mass produced version eventually sold. But I guess the question comes down to, does repeated heating and cooling stress the alloy enough to cause it earlier failure than leaving it on. Thanks!

You mean, not single Made in USA ST boot exists?
1
Whatever blade I use, Im stripping the paint off first.

Grow sprouts as feed. Alfalfa, millet, fava. Fava bean sprouts were fed to centurion horses. Very nutritious.
1
@ProjectFarm : Fava is also hardy and actually prefers cool temps.
1
hahaha!
1
gun powder in the gas . . .hmmmm, better not.
1
I'll take anything made in USA or Taiwan, forget all CCP China products.
1
You should be funded by the US and given your own agency. Better than Unilever.
1
try bengay or vasoline. a slurry of talc, or mollasses. hahahaha!! great channel, fun.
1
Can you test Zippo lighter fluid against other brands, like Scripto, for cleaning paint, soap, wax, etc.
1
For enzymes, use ox pancreatin, which is sold as a powder, not capsules.
1
Did I just see duct tape disappear? Great stuff as usual.
1
Just one thing: a half inch hole isnt really left by a half inch spike. The rubber stretches out closes back after removal. Like to see what happens when you use a half inch hollow punch.
1
Do one on the best edible paints . . wait . . how . .

Can you still find American made turp? The aroma of turpentine is one of those nostalgic aromas I recall from childhood on. Found an old can in my Dad's shop from the 1940's. Still good. Hard to open though. When I went to buy a new can once, I was disappointed to find the old aroma was distinctly different. Guess Fred Meyer (Kroger owned now) got theirs from Ukraine or China. Ugh. Awful. It was small industry in the South for ages.

Here's a little history about it. One hailing from Valdosta, the boyhood home town of Doc Holliday. http://russelldoc.galib.uga.edu/atfa/history/index.html

A close up of the Agrirama still: https://youtu.be/qhlL9ejND9Q
1
Well now you have to try mink and emu oils . . .
1
Sure that 102% wasnt a fluke? It seems to contradict entropy law.
1
@ProjectFarm : Was just wondering if you tested the life of various types of lightbulbs: does turning them off and on make them burn out sooner than just leaving them on?
1
how will you do talcum powder? as a water slurry?might need some emulsifier. Drop of detergent?
1
Mica powder might be hardier.
1
Wonder how soapstone, mica or talcum would affect oil.
1
This is the exemplar of thoroughness. Great job.
1
what??
1
Ever tried everclear or vodka as fuel or additive? And what about that black pepper radiator leak sealant idea?
1
Johnson Smith novelty catalogs used to sell a tube of "Liquid Smoke". I think it cost like 25¢ or maybe 50¢. A tiny little tube. Really tacky stuff where you put a dab on your thumb and tap your index finger on it, creating tiny wisps of the grease that would float away. Looked like "smoke", lol. Dam hard to wash off though. Conoco grease probably. Oh, and it had a very distinct odor.
1
@ProjectFarm : I was mistaken, it was called Mystic Smoke. Time stamp 4:46 at The Oldest Kid in the World channel: https://youtu.be/cYAzrBPDK10 It also shows a higher price than I recall paying, $1.39! lol.

Think the moving part of wrench needed direct contact to the wire.
1
Before watching, I predict Irwin. All I know is, you cannot pry my Irwin channel locks out of my hands. Best adjustable pliers I've ever owned.
1
ever try black pepper for radiator leak?
1
Best gel ink pen Best space heater Best cooking: least rancid, longest shelf life, highest smoke point, etc.
1
Great comparisons! But, the bench grinder might need to be more firmly attached to the floor! lol.👍
1
Curiosity Show used steel wool. What brand tooth pick is best? Lol
