The scrape marks indicate it was an attempted cfit, so being thrown out a door seems unlikely, but not impossible. The state of the wreckage seems to challenge the idea of surviving, but again, if so with injuries, getting a mile away?? Amazing but he had that kind of will. dehydration and cold would win out quickly. Scavengers might strew remains. This story needs fleshing out more than it has.
