Water cohesion deserves a tag-on or re-edit it, because merely noting it as "implicit" to neg. pressure or menisci is missing the most central factor in the process.

Glass has no viscosity at ambient temperatures. It is an amorphous solid. The viscosity of the mantle can not be similar to glass without defining its temperature. The mantle is not an continuous mass. Friction terminology of parts of the entire mass of the mantle is used as if it had viscosity, but only at that scale. We are unsure of the precise margin of conversion from molten to coherent inflexible masses . . that is the pieces . . we only know that that quasi-zone must exist, and roughly how far below. So viscosity of mantle per se is nigh onto a non sequitur.
