Funny that without specialized equipment, atmosphere is required to make starlight visible. Neil Armstrong said except for the planets, they saw no stars anywhere in their orbit to, around or back from, the moon.

A second sun is nearing birth.

@sanderv7522 : The deductions we are left with are the the atmosphere lowers the frequency or that the luminance form other sources overwhelms the sensitivity, the "albedo" effect, blinds the eye to lower luminences. That wouldn't be the issue on the far side of the moon, nor at angles away from earth, moon and sun simultaneously. I noted in one early report of Hubble needing to focus on a star, star cluster or galaxy through the thin atmosphere of a ring of Saturn to enable capturing of the object's visible light. Armstrong said in the first news briefing they were only able to see stars through their instrument.

@sanderv7522 : I don't know. Just going on the statements I've read. Space station equipment is sensitive to UV and maybe thermal, but as to any visible light photographic evidence have yet to see it.

Except metallic hydrogen

It's notba gas or plasma, it's liquid metallic hydrogen matrix.
