Is it really believable, at all, that knowing someone is behind would sway one to not vote for them? One votes the likely candidate to do as one wishes, not the one likely to win. If it was true that polls could influence an individual's preference, then polls are subject to becoming propaganda, "weaponized" and a reason to especially ignore them.
