McCarthy is shamelessly capitalizing on events to posture and preach and without a doubt looking to 2024 as his chance to sit in the Oval Office. Several are imitating Cruz' cadence and stress of speech which, in their hands, merely cones across as emoting and only weakly approximate. It is sad in the extreme because of the tragedy unfurling. Left and right are rife with buffoons and charlatans. So, once again, we have shown our almost unlimited capacity to shoot ourselves in the collective foot. The Peter Principle is in its fullest demonstrative capacity for tragicomedy. But we will see how we can top even this. Trump will never sit in the OO again, Cruz probably will get majority vote in 2024, and this cycle will repeat until something akin to British parliamentary rule displaces it via what the Constitution allows.
