Some mechanical option should be permitted to completely unplug servomechanisms from taking orders only from a misinformed computer. The faulty sensor and anti-stall nose down problem may require a refit not configurable to the jet as-is. They should shut the whole damn line down. Probably they have estimated what's needed and deemed complete shut-down unnecessary. Yet it is more likely fiscal concerns keep it going despite flaws. It looks bad, and they're hoping with a sop of curtailment, it wont look AS bad them going forward.
