@ragnkja : not even in an ordinary cupboard or pantry shelf. Studies have been done on honey's resistance to mould, germs, rancidity and spoilage. It is nearly a perfect preservative.

I dont want any petroleum products in my 18th century style oil cloth. Not hard to find pure, American made Turpentine, handcrafted, and even organic pure American flax seed oil. There are formula books from those days in English and French that have all kinds of methods useable today for dryers, flexibility factors, etc. Wonder if they found lead prevented mildew? If so, a colloid of silver can provide some protection perhaps. Yeah, go organic!
