Someone educate me.... why is crop "stubble" NOT ploughed back into the land as natural fertilizer anymore? Why remove it from the ground and use phosphate dug up elsewhere? Or am I missing something?

It's also impossible to hire self-employed people into your small business to shield yourself from the draconian employment laws.

Why are so many replies to other people's comments deleted? Is this some weird sort of censorship?

YT introduced "enhanced" filters to increase their profit, i.e. conflict drives more hits = more ads.

Avg Japanese farmer: 69 years old. What?!? Unreal. Is this the median? What are the minimum and maximum ages? Does Japan import a lot of its food? Could it even be self-sufficient? [Homeostatic system needed?]

The real problem is the "growth" myth. We do not NEED growth. We need a self-regulating homeostatic system... just like the body uses to safe healthy. Excess creates illness, right? It's the same with society.

Privacy does NOT exist for you if you go online. VPNs and other tools are useful but do not provide 100% protection (contrary to their ads).

The real reason is that... there are too many people and the myth that growth is necessary. We should be living "within our means". We need a "homeostatic" way of living, i.e. zero growth, balanced supply/demand to match our needs, keep our cars, homes, products, etc. for decades (not a couple of years), etc. We are force fed the idea that "growth" is a necessity... this is a lie.

It costs almost 2,000 euros to reserve a trademark in Europe!!!! 2,000 euros!!!!

Going to banks for small business loans is a huge barrier to starting a small business in EU. e.g. you must have a minimum amount in an account to start a limited company, ~20,000 euros minimum dep. on country.

The "Tiktok" generation does not see manual labor as a viable option.

In the US, you can start a business for as little as $25 dep. on the state. Bureaucracy is also a breeze compared to EU. Taxes are low. Bankruptcy is easy if you get in over your head. But... you can still end up homeless living on the street because there is no social safety net.

The "growth" myth is killing every country on the planet. Self-sufficient communities used to exist. No longer in this age of greed.

Thank you for your very well-made factual reporting.
