  1. The real reason is that... there are too many people and the myth that growth is necessary. We should be living "within our means". We need a "homeostatic" way of living, i.e. zero growth, balanced supply/demand to match our needs, keep our cars, homes, products, etc. for decades (not a couple of years), etc. We are force fed the idea that "growth" is a necessity... this is a lie.
