  20. The US strategy is similar to its approach to Afghanistan, supply arms, but not enough to win. That strategy blew up in its face and so will its current strategy unless the US and European countries gives Ukraine enough resources to actually kick Russisa out of Ukraine... completely.

The princesses who chose to work there wore skimpy see-through blouses to tease the foreigners. HR warned me to stay clear. The food in the local restaurants was great except for the day after if you got "King Fahd's revenge". I often went to parties. These were given by "princes", which was why the parties were allowed. There was always separate tables for the alcohol, one for the Saudis and one for the foreigners. Guess which one had the expensive booze? I stayed at a five star hotel, all paid for by the company. It had it's own stretch of beach where you could meet young Arab ladies who wore bikinis. I briefly dated a young lady who was back on vacation in Jiddah. She went to boarding school in England. If memory serves, the population was five million or so, with only 1 million or so being actually Saudis. The people from other countries, like Yemen, etc. lived a miserable life.

  24. One pastime was going to the US Embassy to watch uncensored movies. Lots of local Saudis watched the movies too. Another "hobby" was going to the bowling alley where we watched Saudis try to bowl without tripping up in their thobes. A local law was burned into my brain. If there was an accident, the foreigner was at fault... always. The Saudis did not take driving lessons, so you risked your life by simply walking in the street or being a passenger in a car. My fondest memories are of snorkeling in the Red Sea. The hospital had almost 1,000 employees, but only a couple hundred patients... mostly people from the US or Europe taking advantage of the free healthcare.
