It's not entirely a matter of intelligence... it's a mindset... the question is: How do we burst the info bubble they live in? What I find most disturbing... statements like: God gave us a flawed leader. ... Seriously, how do you answer that?

My reply to james owens ii 2562 was deleted twice(!). I wrote something like: Do you believe that his followers can even hear a contrary message? I once said to a believer: The "beast" is the f a t h e r of all lies. I could see the cognitive dissonance machinating behind his eyes before he came up with scripture to "counter" me. Sigh. The real question is how do we burst the info bubble that confirms their bias? e.g. we should re-introduce the Fairness Doctrine.

@jamesowensii2562 Do you think they are even capable of considering that premise? How do you get through to people that ACCEPT a criminal, adulterer, liar, etc. as a manifestation of God's will that will "advance" their cause? The closest I have gotten so far to igniting cognitive dissonance was quoting the scripture "Satan is the father of lies" to a "believer"... I could see the machinery behind his eyes working overtime... only for him to reject it and come back with some scripture to "counter" me. Sigh... I guess a better question is how we deal with media channels like Fux$ New$ that reinforces their info bubble...

@tommyt1971 Yeah, that's definitely true for some. They exist in all cultures. But demonizing all of them only makes things worse. We need to free the people trapped in an info bubble. We need to re-introduce the Fairness Doctrine in all media... or our country is doomed.
