  1. For the financially savvy follow jaspreet. Good stuff but there are so many variables. Like for example being married your wife might want that bigger house. You have to be very disciplined with your payments to not pay off your mortgage and invest. My wife for example could not be trusted to do this and honestly this is probably the case for most consumer and debt driven Americans. therefore it's better to pay off your mortgage at least there will be equity in that paid off asset. For the rest of us if the interest rate is lower on the mortgage than what you'd get in investments then invest. For me personally I'll be trying to pay off my house it's just easier my wife sees it a less risky now while i disagree with her is still better than wasting money on stupid shit
