IMMIGRATION REFERENDUM required, without it the Tories are lost.

@davidmurphy7332 Q: Should there be a moratorium on all foreign immigration for settlement in the UK for a period of 10 years, to be reviewed by a subsequent national referendum? - Yes/No'

@nigelsynnott7344 Lawful foreign migration for settlement in the UK would cease - which is the vast bulk of migratory pressure, leaving the smaller problem of illegal foreign immigration to deal with, which the Government can concentrate upon to secure our borders.

@nigelsynnott7344 Government direction to the Border Force at the ports of entry

@nigelsynnott7344 Refuse entry to the UK by foreign nationals for settlement purposes. in line with what would be Home Office policy.

@nigelsynnott7344 Turned away at the ports of entry as they are now when they try to come to the UK without a visa authorizing the journey. Those trying to enter illegally, which is a smaller matter in scale than legal foreign migration will have to be dealt with another way based upon security & policing measures. The first step to this being done is the Government receiving the order to do it from the people via a referendum.

@baldyslapnut. What foreign immigration into the UK created the economic "growth" of the 18th-19th centuries?

@baldyslapnut. Yes, immigration was carefully monitored & controlled by the government & the public, which was extremely hostile to it in the 18th & 19th centuries, and it was negligible, & the genetics of the native population doesn't support your point either. The Pension obligation is a bogus argument, as a mildly declining population & wastage with age reduces the drain on the welfare state (putting it crudely pension recipients die off & a smaller population places less demand on government spending, counter-balancing the reduced tax take), and migrating populations themselves place immense strain on tax resources with their own (legitimate if they are legally here) welfare state requirements. My proposal is to allow this natural re-adjustment to take place, place a moratorium on all foreign immigration for settlement in the UK for 10 years (temporary work visas strongly policed are another issue - that might satisfy yr desire of economic development), primarily to avoid ethnic civil conflict across the 1st World.
