Generally interesting domestic social history, but presenting the Afrikanner Insurgency in 1899 as a "a few Dutch farmers with shotguns", along with saying the Americans won WW1, is a-historical nonsense. He clearly knows v. little about those subjects & shouldn't be bluffing to pretend he does like this.

That's what he said exactly, stop making lame excuses for him based on falsehood. As for the Americans in WW1, only a small proportion of their troops ever saw combat in WW1, & then only on a minor part of the Western Front in 1918 (& they were reliant on the British & French armies to equip & train them). The British Army had the lion's share of the fighting in mid-late 1918 which defeated the German Imperial Army. Any1 who knows anything about the war knows this, & it's only ignoramuses on the subject who mouth these lazily thought thru American-ocentric views about it. I don't mind his ignorance, but I do mind his pretending to know about something he clearly hasn't spent even a few hours bothering to study.
