It would have been interesting also to hear how the process works after a claim is filed, particularly clarifying how the legislative aspect of case work is processed - does the court work out which laws are at issue with the claim, or does the claimant have to specify it themselves.

  3. Good presentation of a complex subject, deserves 100K views by now rather than what it has so far. If the governments of the 1st World spent just 5% of their national budgets that they're currently focusing on geriatric medicine, fire-fighting the effects of aging on the body, on R&D in this area instead, it would hugely expedite research outcomes, & - if it works - would eliminate the cost of geriatric medicine that's such an immense financial drain on nations' treasuries. Tackle the problem at the root rather than the leaves.

  4. Dodd Frank was merely Glass-Steagall without teeth any way, the Stockmarket has been out of control for the last 10 years, the state of the US Treasury's vaults is what it's running on now. Whether Dodd-Franks goes or not is a total irrelevance.

  6. The fact of these being standard police patrol kit on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean is a indication of their effectiveness. They're illegal to carry on the streets in England unless yr a copper on duty. Self-defence weapons carried here have to be disguised, so I carry a shellacked bamboo "walking stick" for a "knee injury" - if I'm ever ?'d over it by the police. I haven't been, but I've seen a few coppers go by glancing at it with a wry smile suspecting what it is & seeing that I'm not the kind to use as a street criminal, or you might carry a weight of some sort in your pocket that has another (lawful) use, but if necessary can be used quickly to increase fist heft. Foot-work (retreating to an assailant's advance) to keep the target in a striking distance zone is key to using arm's length weapons, and needs - as you say - to be practiced, as does using it in motion, as the muscles in the particular arms it uses are usually underdeveloped for it. A firm grip whilst maintaining a loose wrist also seems to work better, increasing the flexibility of the arm's motion + weight of the strike. Well presented film with good advice, thx

  8.  @FastJetPerformance  MoD is under orders from the Cabinet Office & the Cabinet itself via the political channel, like a fish the rot comes from the top on this - it's a small part of a wider politico-culture conflict. CAS is outgunned, his options are to go along or leave the service. He apparently doesn't regard it yet as a big enough issue to take that step

When a society is subject to political revolutionary pressures - which is what's going on - its military (drawn from & of that society) won't be unaffected. The civilian/military population of a society are fundamentally interconnected, as the Bourbons discovered. The tradition of HM Forces neutrality from politics since Cromwell won't stop revolutionary phantoms at Main Gate

  13. The poor suffer generally from not being smart, shrewd & quick-witted in my experience. Those that have those qualities tend to succeed financially in life, & those that lack them - for whatever reason - don't. It's not fair, but I don't know what government can do about it particularly beyond providing a Welfare State safety net &trying to ensure that the economy is functioning well to provide societal wealth generation. I'm not convinced about education equating with financial success, generally, we've had mass general schooling for all children for over 100 years now, & the poor still exist apparently un-helped by it.
