  8.  @suzukibeane1220  Think about something like this. If you get rid of the electoral college you could have a candidate lose every single state and win California big and become president. Not saying that would ever happen. But in theory it's possible. How fair would that be for the rest of the country? The electoral college gives a voice to smaller less populated states. And it forces candidates to campaign throughout the whole country. Also candidates would campaign differently if it was all about the popular vote.
