@BcroG11 that's not true at all. Being forced to do some - discipline - is not necessarily a bad thing. And as somebody who's actually had the luxury to live 3 years in a comfortable life without working, I'll tell you that it can make one incredibly depressed.

@LazyRare I'm guessing you've never had the luxury of not working then? I had years of not working, on a decent income too. That shit destroys your self esteem, makes you un-dateable to woman, and just start lacking a zest for life.

@Coff1nf33der well he actually said it's only 3 years away, in this very podcast... I doubt that.

But where's this guy's proof? He's always saying it's a few years away. But what's the point of implementing universal income, or other policies until we have proof that people will live longer...

@dr.zoidberg8666 this only works on assembly lines, and very simple deliveries from A to B. Like, how could a kitchen hand ever be automated? Chop that tomato - I'm sure a machine could be made for that. But then could it sprinkle the herbs? Scrub that pot? Go down the road and buy whiskey?

@BreathingGuy20 I already covered simple assembly lines. Your other point, remote teaching, doesn't make sense - teachers are in more demand now than ever, and receiving an increasing percentage of most Western nations budget every year... And the largest factor in lost manufacturing jobs, is your own government sending those jobs overseas. Maybe that's where you should focus your attention. Other nations who invested in their unions and manufactures, are doing well.

@BcroG11 what about a soldier in war? My friend loves war, the danger etc. From being in the army, to now protecting lions in the savannah. There's a lot of imposed discipline in that job, but finds himself bored outside of that work...

@Extort713 >Once full AI comes along I think you mean "if". And even then, that would be centuries away.

@PaleGhost69 rich people don't buy prefab homes buddy, in fact they seek out hand crafted goods

@Veritas0589 it's pretty daunting going back into work. Find a job where you can work like once or twice a week, or even volunteering a few times a week for a cause you believe in. I'm currently doing part time work, after first volunteering, and full time work doesn't seem so scary anymore.

You could always seek out an expert opinion instead.

Do you work?

@alsah-him1571 what industry have you worked in? I used to 10-14hr days in removals/demolition. That was the happiest i've ever been, and when I had days off I'd make the absolute most of my free time.
