  1. That doesn't make it ok for China to do I. Adding a second nation which spies on us is a bad idea. It also could be argued which government is worse. Eg. One million Uiyghurs in reeducation camps is a little more totalitarian than anything America's currently doing.

  2. My friend is currently teaching in China. And OMG, I can't even talk to him about politics anymore (almost literally, he has to use a VPN). But I brought up the Hong Kong protests, and he begun spewing out Sino-propaganda about how Hong Kongers love China, and it's only a handful of troublemakers etc.
