  1. An even better analogy is this: why is North the Arctic, and not Antarctica? Why is Australia not at the top of maps, but on the bottom? The answer is - it doesn't matter.

  2. That doesn't help people who don't understand mathematics, though. A better analogy, is that if you flip a map upside down, and rename North to South, nothing really changes.
