Comments by "Grubby bum" (@grubbybum3614) on "Neil deGrasse Tyson Responds to Stephen Hawking's Take on Aliens (from Joe Rogan Experience #919)" video.
But Neill's wrong on this subject. Hawking's got it right. I think Neill's experience as a black man, in a white man's profession, clouded his judgement. Humans will kill each other. We do have rival boundaries. That ain't going away, ever.

@magsudahmadov8602 I was trying to distinguish between Neil's perspective and Hawking's perspective on the threat posed by extraterrestrial contact. Providing the context of their upbringing would be helpful, I assumed.

@nerdnairbnordnirbu9044 well, being poor certainly has an effect on IQ. That's kind of indisputable. It's the very argument used to 'disprove' the Bell-curve theory, isn't it? (And the Bell-curve is the first part of your comment). So which one is true?

Agreed. I find myself disagreeing with many of his theories. Eg. Hawking's was correct that we need to disperse, idk how Tyson doesn't understand that Also, his theory that no civilization would ever expand beyond their solar system? C'mon man.

@magsudahmadov8602 1. Because he grew up poor in a black community 2. Yes, I mean, astronomy is not an African accomplishment, is it?

@magsudahmadov8602 3. Many people, apparently. I'm speaking your language so you can better understand

@magsudahmadov8602 I edited out the errors of my original post. Hopefully it makes more sense to you now

@majorstorm9 I really disagree with that. We can look at other high intelligent species on earth, how about dolphins and octopi. Neither of them developed by being passive, they're both carnivorous predators. And most likely, any alien species will put its own kind above that of other species.

@magsudahmadov8602 statistically, we have to use the human experience as our sample size for intelligent life, because it's the only source available for us to study. Therefore, it's 100% probable that intelligent life will war against another species.
