On the other hand, the biggest constraint of UAV's is a lack of human intelligence. Human Creativity and decision making in AI would be necessary to completely replace the human. Imo, that's quite some time off, if ever...

For close range, lasers are very useful. I imagine it won't be too long before aircraft are armed with their own miniature CIWS, in the form of a laser or two.

@RogerJL Those on my side of the argument still admit that there'll be UAVs, it's just that they'll work in 'tandem' with manned-aircraft, and not 'independently'...

Imo, if fully autonomous fighter-aircraft become a thing, that'll be the 'least' of our worries. Because for that to happen, AI will need to have matched the human brain in intelligence... And when (if?) that time comes, there'll be much larger issues for humanity than winning wars against other nations.
