  1.  @Elthenar  I think they have lost some of their punch, like the F14 Tomcat, S3 Viking, A6 Intruder... The air arm isn't getting any better in the future, with short range F35s.

  2.  @Elthenar  well, I only mentioned range as one disadvantage. Like you said, weaponry is another... There is still nothing like the Phoenix missile. Another is that China stole everything about the F-35 up until the mid 2000s, this is why it's so delayed - because they had to basically build a new aircraft under stricter security.

  3.  @Elthenar . That's not true at all. The F14 has almost a 1/3rd more fuel capacity that the F-35.
