  1. I have a VERY expensive Snap-On scanner for when I have to do complicated diagnostics. However it takes so long to boot up and connect that I also have one of these small scanners for when I just need to pull a quick code (Pretty sure it's a Foxwell). These cheap scanners definitely have their place, even in a shop. Thanks for testing them. BTW, this is the ONLY channel I support financially. That's how awesome this channel is.

  2. One note... The AC Delco is an anaerobic sealant, which is made to seal precision machined surfaces, like transmission cases. To see it's true capability, you need to test it with a precision machined surface. That's why it's a thin gel, so it can seep into microscopic scratches to prevent leakage. Also, it only harden in the absence of air (hence the name, anaerobic), which is the condition is machined surfaces.

  5. I'm a big proponent of Stihl for 2 reasons... Made in the USA (or Germany) and I used an 044 as a BLM firefighter for 4 years. We were religious about sharpening and maintenance and I used the same saw for 4 years with no breakdowns. My saw probably had more hours per year than any saw other than a logger's.

  6.  @denniss9620  Yep. My '87 Hardbody V6 has 465k miles on it with nothing but cheap Castrol GTX and [GASP!] Fram oil filters. Changing the oil and filter every 3k miles is the key, not additives.

  7.  @dummkompf  That was a long time ago. Du-Pont has changed the formulation of Teflon since then. I don't think any of these pans actually use Teflon. The only pans you need to watch out for are old Teflon pans with the coating starting to fail.

  8.  @stickboslightning  My Triton has features even a normal bi directional scanner doesn't have. I can write VINs to new modules, do TPMS sensor relearns, reset oil life monitors, and it has a built in Scope and multimeter. It's worth the money in a shop where it used to make money. I'd never recommend one for home use.

  10. Was the Akihisa tightened to the same tension as the worm gear clamps (30 in/lbs)? If so, that could be why it leaked at such a low pressure. The purpose of a T-bolt clamp is that it can be made much tighter than a worm gear clamp without stripping. Small T-bolt clamps should be tightened to 60 in/lbs. Large ones to 150 in/lbs. This info is from Norma clamps.

  11. Looks like the Stanley might be made by Sun Joe. You see this a lot. One Chinese factory with 5 or 6 different brand names going out the door. Looks like you do get what you pay for. The most expensive washer was the best by far. Is anything not made in China? People wonder why our middle class is shrinking and more people are slipping into poverty. China is experiencing a huge surge in their middle class and upper class. Wonder why.

  14. I would've like to see one premium brand, like a Dyson, thrown in the mix just to see if more money buys more vacuum, or if you're just paying for a brand name. Also, I'd would've liked to see the prices with a battery and charger since these are useless without them. Those are my only critiques. Love all of your videos.

For anyone wondering, "Well how do I know if I'm buying counterfeit"? Simple... If the price is half of retail, it's fake. Yes, you can find real batteries for less than retail, but never half of retail.

  24. Once again, Made in the USA and 100% cotton comes out on top. I really wish people would stop price shopping on every product they buy. Start reading labels. People complain that their appliances, consumer electronics and even their cars don't last as long as they used to. Well, that old stuff that lasted forever was NOT made in China. Today, all of your failure prone junk is mostly Asian in origin... China, Vietnam, Taiwan, etc... It's not the workers, it's the factory owners. They pay horrible wages, put no effort into worker safety and use the cheapest materials possible. US consumers are responsible for the new Chinese millionaire class.

  25. At my shop, I refuse to install non-OEM cats. I've had too many cars come back a month or two later with a P0420 after installing aftermarket cats. Also, any time you remove the bolts holding the strut to the knuckle, you should get a front end alignment. Your home alignment corrected toe, but removing those bolts can throw off your camber and caster. It's worth it to pay for a shop alignment. Plus, the shop's laser system is much more effective than a home toe adjustment.

  27. I'm ALWAYS willing to pay more for made in the USA. You can't complain about our economy and then go out and buy Chinese made products. Based on this testing, the SK USA would probably get my money, with the Snap-On being my second choice.

  28. I have a Breville Hemisphere that's a few years old. It came with a container that disassembles for cleaning. It started leaking after a couple moths of using about once a week. Breville found this to be a problem and redesigned the container to be a one piece design. I bought the new one piece (Breville refused to accept there was a design flaw and replace it for free). I prefer the one piece. I have no problems cleaning it and I no longer worry about leaks. IMO, the one piece is a better design.

  31. Curious how the digtal Snap-On's compare to the click type Snap-On's. I have the digitals because the also do degrees, which I need. In my experience (30 years of working on cars), SK makes some of the best tools, on par with Snap-On and for 1/2 the price. Only problem with SK is that they don't have a truck that comes to my shop.

  33.  @ExcavationNation  You have to file suit in China. Most companies are partially owned by the Chinese government. They are immune in the Chinese courts. This is why the only way to stop them is to find the counterfeits in port and seize them there.

  35. I still have my old Craftsman aluminum jack at my shop. Still works great. Based on this test, I'd probably choose the aluminum Arcan. I currently have a Daytona aluminum 1.5 ton for home use.

  37. I used to use Nissan RTV Grey because I worked at Nissan. I believe it was made by Permatex, so now I use that at my shop. The only time I've had cars come back with a leak, it was technician error by not thoroughly cleaning the mating surfaces. I use alcohol pads to prep the surface after cleaning.

  40. Higher octane fuels really only shine on engines with fuel injection and a knock sensor. These engines can run more advanced ignition timing with higher octanes.

  42. When it comes to failure modes... It's much better to have a failure of the ratchet mechanism or drive than the handle. The guts are usually easily replaceable, whereas the handles breaking means you need a whole new tool. When it comes to the tool truck brands, it doesn't really matter as they ass have lifetime warranties and the store comes to you. Some of the others might also have a lifetime warranty, but I'm not sure which. I'd suggest you mention the warranty lengths in your hand tool reviews.

  45. I wish there had been a way you could've tested the cooling ability closer to 200 degrees F. I understand that the electric heating element may not get that hot and using a gas burner would have been too difficult to control.

  49. Listen folk, these can are for temporary emergency use. Never use these without gauges. If you overcharge your system, you''l cause problems. I have a shop with an A/C machine. What I charge to evac/charge and diagnose your a/c system is much cheaper than replacing a component that failed due to overcharging. I charge $150.

  50. I've learned to stay away from Chinese made tool truck tools. IMO, the only reason to pay tool truck prices is to get made in the USA. The Chinese stuff is no better than Amazon Chinese stuff.
