  1. I'm a high rigger and use a Benchmade automatic opening knife for work because I need a knife I can use with one hand. With daily use, it stays sharp for about 3 months with occasional wet stoning. Every 3 months I sharpen it fully and it takes an edge really well. It was about $300, but it's worth it to me, since it's a work tool. I also have a mid-80's Buck knife with a Japanese steel blade. I don't use it, but I like having it.
