Haven't even watched this yet, but if they don't blame everything on "just in time" delivery and the complete elimination of local warehousing, they're wrong. Retailers used to keep more than one or two items in stock and used to have local warehouses that insulated against supply chain issues. These were eliminated to save money. Elimination not only saved money by removing the expense of leasing warehouses, it also meant than when there was a supply chain issue, prices could go up due to the lack of supply and steady demand. It was a win/win for corporations with shareholders demanding increased profits at any cost.

@3:35... Union concessions don't work unless the workers see the executives also taking pay cuts. When you ask your workers to sacrifice, it creates morale issues in the workplace that dramatically affects productivity. A worker that loves their job produces far more than one who begrudgingly goes to work every morning and only does the bare minimum. Asking workers to take pay cuts or not get raises is often a corporations first choice to save money. It's usually a bad idea... Unless the workers see the executives also taking pay cuts. They they feel "we're all in this together". Yellow could have saved itself by rebranding Roadway and USF trucks as Yellow and laying off the redundant executives. How many millions could've been saved by just eliminating redundant executives?

@lucuslopez6866 Not really. Lumber is stacked to the rafters is yards. This is due to speculators trading fictitious materials. This happens in all commodities markets. Remove the speculators by requiring traders to take delivery before they can sell and this volatility goes away.

Facebook is worried that people are tired of being the product. I no longer have the FB app on my phone, mostly because I can't block ads. I only use FB on my laptop, where I have two ad blockers and the Facebook Purity app that blocks tings like FB "suggested posts". I'd rather FB not track me at all and charge $10/mo to use it. I very much prefer to pay for services and see zero advertising.

Sam's is the same. Notice all the people in the clips are women? This strategy works on women, who enjoy shopping. Most men, like me, just get frustrated when we can't find the item we buy every time we shop. When I shop, i have a mental list of what I'm getting and I go right to where that item was last time. When it's not there, or moved, I just get frustrated and sometimes just skip buying it since i can't find it.
