  1. Before Real World, reality TV was mostly real. After, it's scripted, just like any sitcom. The only difference is that the actors are all amateurs and not professionals. It's really just a way to get around SAG. @8:45... Those of us from the original MTV Generation (Gen X), still crave a channel with music videos. Unfortunately, it no longer exists. It's been replaced by a network that has strayed so far from it's origins that it's no longer recognizable, like TLC and Discovery. @12:00... While CNN did usher in the 24 news cycle, which is largely a good thing, it also made news a for profit business and turned it away from being a public service. CNN is why we now have advertising during the evening news and why sensational headlines and "more on that later" are now a thing.
