The C5 Z06 is the bargain of the century. I see them in the mid $20k's all the time. Replace that worn out chin spoiler. It makes a difference in cooling. You guys mentioned fuel economy... LegitStreetCars tuned a manual C5 for lean burn cruising and got 40mpg. That's an economy car that has 350hp.

The C6 has the 427, not the C5. You're not getting a C6 Z06 for $20k without major problems. They're in the $30's. You can get a C5 Z06 with the 5.7L LS6 for mid $20k's

@zachc1297 Grand Sport has the suspension of the Z06, not the engine. Also, you're confusing the C5 and C6.

@KingSalami407 You can't buy a regular C5 FRC and build it to compete with a Z06 for the price of a Z06. You seem to forget, in the C5 generation, the Z06 wasn't based on a standard Vette. It was a completely different bodystyle.

@KingSalami407 Most Z06's never see a track. It's not just about track times. The C5 is cheap because they're everywhere. The Z06 is a special car. Different body, different suspension, different engine... Really all it shares with a standard C5 is some interior parts and the name.

@KingSalami407 Typo... It's NOT just about track times. Eventually (in a few decades), the C5 Z06 will be a collectible car, the standard C5 will never be.

@KingSalami407 Good for you. Like I said, 2 different cars for two different buyers. A Z06 buyer isn't a "value" shopper.
