  1. I first saw this back in 2002 while trying to tune a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon. Even though it had a mechanical throttle body, it kept hanging during shifts. Seems Hyundai realized they needed a way to hang the revs to improve emissions without re-engineering the entire engine control system. They're solution was a large idle air control motor that would activate to send air around the throttle body when it was closed quickly. The solution to the rev hang was to eliminate the IAC motor and drill a tiny hole in the throttle plate to allow enough air for the engine to idle.
