I have a VERY expensive Snap-On scanner for when I have to do complicated diagnostics. However it takes so long to boot up and connect that I also have one of these small scanners for when I just need to pull a quick code (Pretty sure it's a Foxwell). These cheap scanners definitely have their place, even in a shop. Thanks for testing them. BTW, this is the ONLY channel I support financially. That's how awesome this channel is.

4 Year Nissan Master Tech... Nissan CVT's work just fine if you change the fluid every 30k with high quality fluid. The '08 to '12 Altima/Rogue had a problem with being overfilled from the factory. We fixed it by sucking out some fluid and replacing the dipstick with a new one. They also overheated in very hot climates like here in Vegas and also Phoenix. We fixed that with a trans cooler. The newer CVT's with the 3.5 V6's had a bearing in the case that could go bad. Some were factory defects, some went bad from lack of maintenance. Moral of the story... Replace your fluid and you'll be fine.

A lot of the click bait YT channels (I'm looking at you Ray and Zach), have been yelling "the sky is falling" for two years, but retail rices aren't reflecting the drop in wholesale values. Dealers are still trying to get all the money for cars they overpaid for.

A flywheel performs a function of keeping the engine rotating while the clutch is disengaged. It has mass to hold kinetic energy so that the engine rpm doesn't drop too much and force the synchros to slow the transmission's input shaft down. This prevents premature synchro wear. This is why lightweight flywheels on street cars aren't a great idea unless you don't mind rebuilding your trans every 60k miles. That being said, I use lightweight flywheels on all of my cars because I don't keep them long enough to worry about it.

You folks act like this is something new. Are any of you old enough to remember George Bush's (the first) speech about the New World Order?

Just wanna say thanks... Now every time I hear a phone ring, I'm also doing a Swedish Chef impression.

Watch the Torque Test Channel's review of torque sticks. Apparently they work great on air guns, but don't work well on electrics. I believe it's the faster speed of the electric gun that doesn't let the torque stick "rebound" which is what makes it effective.

That's great, but what we really need is a video of Nathan riding the pink bike.

@13:30... That happened once at the Nissan dealer I was at. Service manager actually stood up for the tech and got into a shouting match with the sales manager. He told the sales manager to keep his people "the f*** out of my shop".

@21:10... Farther is for distance. Further compares one thing to another.

@33:40... Before I was a Master Tech, I was an EMT. Carpals are in your wrist. Metacarpals are in the back of your hand. Phalanges are your fingers. BTW, I've said it before, but you didn't listen. With as much schmoo as you use, get a caulking gun and buy the large tubes of RTV Grey. It'll save both money and your Carpals.

If it hasn't been replaced, it's probably got a cracked manifold. Common issue and possibly the cause of the P0420. They crack along the factory weld. @16:30... Yep. I can hear it now. @16:58... It's a little lower, where the collector meets the cat. That's the broken weld.

Pssshhh... I've never done that. No, really. Never. I swear.

@5:50... A lot of times, when cars fall, it's not because of a collapse. It's because people disable the arm locks to make it easier to swing the arms under a car. This means when the car is is the air, the arms can swing out from under the car. Seen it happen. Dealership I was at, the service manager came out into the shop one day and fired 3 techs for having their arm locks disabled (we had 20 techs). @7:29... That's why I drain the filter housing before removing it. @10:15... My favorite part of any of your videos is the caveman, "Brake clean empty!" moment. As an aside... I'm now paying $3.99/ can for brake clean. Wish someone would send me a case.

I F'ing HATE press in bearings. You always have to cut the outer race off the hub after you press it out. They always take longer than you get paid. They're a flat rate money loser. F 'em!

"Focus, you fawk"!... If you know...

@7:45... I think they sent you a Duramax pipe with all Powerstroke accessories, including the bracket.

@RainmanRaysRepairs I totally get it. I don't like dragging the hose around or tripping over it.

Funny. I think there's a connection between kitchens and shops. Lots of "cross pollination". I think it's a love of tools. I love cooking and have been a tech for 30 years. In my house, the garage and kitchen are mine.
