  9.  @Eattits  sweetheart, nobody has ever helped the homeless, not so it changed the situation for their lifetime, wh is how it should be. I worked at a Christian mission wh was good to women & children but not always and later I found a cabinet w tons of forms for all kinds of programs to help the ppl get out and into much better situations but none of it was ever given to one resident. Of course it wasn't bc then the mission ŵouldnt have been necessary, and the owners wouldn't have had a business. I guess that's the American way of capitalism. Hope you are OK today.❤️

  23. Idk. When the Marielitos came on the boatlift from Cuba to Miami, they were housed first in the Orange Bowl. When football season began, they were moved to Tent City. When the Cubans vetting them told the govt wh were the dangerous criminals, they allowed them to be released into the city. When street crime jumped high, the police told ppl how to protect themselves (no deadly force laws at the time). So, ppl have been coming in swarms a long time (mariel was over 50 yrs ago) nobody knows till they cross into the country? Nobody can stop them from roaming free? And they are being cared for by American taxpayers who are struggling just to survive while old, disabled ppl become homeless for lack of adequate housing and kids get killed in school for lack of adequate security? Is that about right?

  26. That's an idea all right. Drug dealers and Mafia members live in an exclusive area in South Florida, their kids are equally likely to become druggie and other criminals. You wouldn't want the nice, decent, lower income kids to be exposed to ppl not of their ken, or either way.

But once did an internship in San Diego, visited w friends in the Silicone Valley, got tapped to be a stand-in for a lookalike movie star in L.A. while waiting for a ride, and joined a human rights group while camping in the desert. Enjoy everything the world has to offer then move on. It's a big world, try not to miss the good stuff. California has always been the epitome of "nice to visit but wouldn't want to live there." Nobody feels worse than a person w no income, no worth, no purpose,no place to be each day, then treating them like unemployment is a favor. When all the jobs were allowed to go overseas and there was no plan to save ppl except to tell them to retrain for a new one. WHICH NEVER EXISTED!

All white ppl had to do was ignore the issues and no civil rights legislation would have been written or passed, or they could have actively fought against it & shut it down altogether. HOWEVER: White ppl stood up for their black brothers and sisters. White ppl even came from Europe to march for black ppls rights. White ppl marched to protect MLK and his group when marching from Selma to Montgomery and during that period in the South, white ppl who were helping black ppl register to vote were slain for their efforts and Christian beliefs. Much progress was made as black ppl were given opportunities for jobs, scholarships, and reserved seats in colleges including ivy league schools. How it all got back to todays mess isnt so clear. As Oprah would tell you, it wasnt from any lack of opportunity. That this school would disrespect and insult white ppl by OFFERING a class in how to be allies for black ppl is beyond repugnant. Do you not teach recent history in your schools or have you just rewritten it? You have millions of foreign ppl moving into this country en masse. If you want your kids to have any chance at jobs you best forget all the current nonsense and get the kids enrolled in language classes. They are going to need to be multilingual.
