@Eattits sweetheart, nobody has ever helped the homeless, not so it changed the situation for their lifetime, wh is how it should be. I worked at a Christian mission wh was good to women & children but not always and later I found a cabinet w tons of forms for all kinds of programs to help the ppl get out and into much better situations but none of it was ever given to one resident. Of course it wasn't bc then the mission ŵouldnt have been necessary, and the owners wouldn't have had a business. I guess that's the American way of capitalism. Hope you are OK today.❤️

Idk. When the Marielitos came on the boatlift from Cuba to Miami, they were housed first in the Orange Bowl. When football season began, they were moved to Tent City. When the Cubans vetting them told the govt wh were the dangerous criminals, they allowed them to be released into the city. When street crime jumped high, the police told ppl how to protect themselves (no deadly force laws at the time). So, ppl have been coming in swarms a long time (mariel was over 50 yrs ago) nobody knows till they cross into the country? Nobody can stop them from roaming free? And they are being cared for by American taxpayers who are struggling just to survive while old, disabled ppl become homeless for lack of adequate housing and kids get killed in school for lack of adequate security? Is that about right?

@Collins Avenue and was it THIS country? And could someone explain to me how our soldiers in Afghanistan protected and helped the plight of ppl here in America? And why not get all those weapons and equipment and see it to Ukraine instead of giving it to the Afghans for free?

Thanks for the sympathy but it's a very shameful situation. We feel helpless wh is not a good feeling and we feel ashamed that we were so stupid to have allowed our country to be taken over by ppl we don't know or trust while our neighbors are suffering. It's a very shameful thing and we don't even know what's to be done w us. Has anyone found any big buildings full of ovens?

I've been asking that question for a long time. Where are they putting the migrants? Supposedly, we have a homeless problem, like so many other countries, bc there is not enough housing for ppl. So where are they putting the new ppl? If there are available hotel rooms, why can't unhoused citizens have them at low cost? That solves the problem of getting the good ppl off the streets where they are in danger. I'm still hoping another country w nice ppl will be gracious enough to allow US citizens to relocate there so we can be safer. Most of us have a lot to offer a welcoming nation.

I wouldn't hold my breath, Robert. You probably won't see your housing bc I've a feeling that none of these ppl are leaving the US any time soon. Face it, we've lost our country. Now we have 2 options, either find somewhere else to live (there must be space somewhere if everyone else in the world is in the US and Europe), or find a new way to live. If Greg and Ron are sending everyone north, we could move south and start rebuilding there, it's warm, we could work most of the year. Or, for our Latin neighbors, they could keep going south and rebuild Central and South America, teach newcomers Spanish and Latin culture. We should stop blaming the govt. We should organize and make a better life for ourselves. We all have lots of chutzpah, education, and skills. We pioneered once, we can do it again. Ìts a big world out there . . .

@Billy SRTJGC not likely. To qualify for anything "free" in the US, you have to fill out reams of paperwork and give "who knows who" access to all your private info. Unless you are a criminal or have first hand knowledge and friends working in the service jobs, you are just going to be put on a waiting list. Lists all over the country now are years long. Veterans aren't being mistreated they are simply victims like everyone else in need who thought America's tax money went to help citizens. If there is no need of a draft, then soldiering is just another job choice and you are back in the group blamed for poor life choices or useless degrees.

@s p y d e r_33 the Federation for American Immigration Reform was founded in 1970. Ìmmigration was out of control at an alarming rate back then and the organization got busy as did the same ppl fighting for ppls rights and the environment and the wars. It's been an ongoing battle for a long time.

@DR Shepherd lots of ppl are in need. Everyone who works serves the ppl in some way. There hasn't been a draft since Vietnam, workers choose the military job, just like police and firemen and doctors who are at risk of contacting horrid diseases from us and the unvetted migrants. You can no longer insist on being first in line, nobody is forcing you to soldier.

@NickTalk sure does. Then Americans can't go to other places to get affordable health care. When American doctors move, they increase the cost of medical care wherever they go. Then they don't fight against drug companies or insurance companies nor do they fight for the poor or falling middle classes, nor lower themselves to providing care for them, if the goal is to move to make more money.
