@gothhydran Try Houston or San Diego. There used to be lots of foreigners from different countries who owned fabric shops in those cities. Try African fabrics, popular today, found online in mega stores and private shops like Etsy. Made a throw w fabric from Rwanda. 😮The prints are put on the cloth w wax, not as delicate as it sounds, believe me, I'm obsessed w ironing every little seam i make!😅

Yes! And the cheap clothes at higher prices in discount and thrift stores is a slap in our faces.

@user-bf3pc2qd9s Yes. Especially in women's shops. We aren't stupid, you know, and it isn't "cute."😠

I'll probably lose my acct for this, but I wandered into a Lane Bryant store last week and they had fabulous quality clothes. They were a bit pricey (I haven't had to buy clothes in ages so you'll have to gauge for yourselves).

@tomjones2157 really? Adding in the electric, water, shopping, car use, gas, etc. (I'm mostly whole foods so I dont know much about cooking.) I do know I had a $9 hamburger once and a $16 sub. So?🤷♀️idk.

@virginiamoss7045 I know. It was my great passion and I found the best at tiny prices from mail order clubs wh dont exist anymore, haven't for years now.😢 It took a long time to get over not having custom made clothes out of exquisite fabric and Ralph Lauren patterns , but now I make art on oversized sweatshirts, and still do an awesome embroidery on jeans if I can find any worth the work. And I do wallhangings of events (covid, anniversaries of the Apollo moon landing and Woodstock, Genocide in Gaza) good and bad, for future history hunters and makers.😊 There's no end to creativity. Work w anything you can find that makes you happy. You may be able to sell some things you make and get some money to buy a good piece of fabric or a ball of yarn (wh is more expensive now too!).😢 We won't let our gifts be taken from us bc the world is temporarily going through a bad patch. We have a future generation still depending on us.🤗☮️❤

@Dashzap lots of joanne stores have closed as well as Hancocks, Hobby Lobby, etc. We need to get our kids interested. Demand creates supply!

Enjoyed your video. Thanks for the thorough research. Theres a lot more if you want another video, poke a bit further back in history. The really sad thing was that we couldnt avoid crummy retail by home sewing. Then down went the fabulous designs in the big 4 pattern books.😢
