@anon2427 But he might be 85% English, no? He doesn't have to walk around everyday lecturing everyone on colonialism and demanding reparations and refusing to speak English although he speaks it as well as any English native. He might own one tweed suit , know the lyrics to one Elton John song, or be able to engage pleasantly in a conversation w a group of native born English wo blaming them for having stolen their ancient artworks. If ppl aren't going to enjoy and appreciate their chosen country, is there any reason to tolerate their animosity and allow them to stay? Does it really make sense to allow immigrants to tear down your country or make the demands on your citizens that make them uncomfortable or hostile?

Oh. That's God's own truth. How superbly put. Hope you don't mind that I use your words.❤

@DarkAngel2512 true. But that's not what has happened. If countries had set immigration limits (wh they did) and held fast to them (wh they didnt), we would have a culture that our forefathers outlined for us, w a nice sprinkling of other cultural traditions like Christmas trees, and jazz, and tacos.

@DarkAngel2512 Neither do we, luv. It's been over for decades, at least. Some ppl won't let it die bc it benefits them. That's all it is. Don't keep up the narrative. It's all fake. Ppl of all colors in the States could care less about colors, it's just like a bad habit, you know, ppl who have nothing else to say bc they haven't bothered or wanted to learn the country has long since moved on.

@DarkAngel2512 No. The problem was that years ago they made students and workers kowtow to other cultures. Instead of teaching immigrants how to be American, they made Americans cater to the ways and names and languages of other cultures. We did it in the spirit of PC and the transfer of power began. Just bc you recognized it, doesn't mean you had to copy it. It was a very bad mistake and it continues to pull-in other groups, not toward the mainstream, but very much in reverse.

Isn't it too late for that? The immigrants are there and they are now your majority. They now have the power to make "your" country, "their" country to whatever degree they choose.

@dellabrodsky4655 Maybe you just didn't realize you didn't have a choice? The types of govts we have are defined by, "you choose a candidate from a very few wealthy ppl, and then they make the decisions for you. We don't really have any other power to make anything happen. We can protest and take the same side as the vast majority of ppl all over the world protesting to the same end, but you still aren't influencing a change in the outcome as it has already been, or is being, decided for you. We've always learned that these great leaders knew better than us, that whomever we chose had our best interests at heart. After all, isn't that the purpose of the government? Is it even possible to sway decisions to our side and if we could, would we? And if we would, what exactly could we do?

You dont mean "encouraged" do you? Ppl seem to have gone from uncomfortable to enraged by it.

@delta7554 Some ppl were angry about Pres. Trump's slogan, "America First." Maybe Americans always felt that way and it was just PC that kept them from expressing their feelings until a presidential candidate brought the concept into the open. Once it was out there, ppl started showing their unhappiness w the loss of their culture, in fact everything that made them define themselves as American. Of course it wasn't just American, but as you say, countries that accepted massive immigration.

You could change your laws if it suited you. You could disallow permanent immigration, although it doesn't seem to be the best solution.( I see Denmark is having some trouble trying to send Syrians back home.) You might have clear, binding contracts re stays in your country for refugees or workers. It might be a case of closing the barn door after the horse has run away, but its a thought offered in good faith.❤

That's ridiculous. Move into the 21st century. As Pres. Kennedy said: "Ask not what your country can do for you; Ask what you can do for your country. "
