  1. I totally agree with Joe's pet peave about searching the universe to find it populated by hominids. However, if an alien came to hang out on Earth, it probably would design a body that works well here. The likelihood that it would model it on humans, one of the most successful existent species with a high level of versatility, might be pretty good. Because of this I think that visiting aliens might well appear to be hominid when we see them.
