@derek3266 I don't know if the Spanish made any coordinated complaints about being tagged with an epidemic that started in Iowa. At this point I think it would be very difficult to find out. The thing is, the description of this corona virus as a Chinese virus or a China virus is done by people trying to diminish China and its affecting Chinese people, people of Chinese background, and other people of East Asian background. There is no good reason to describe it in these terms at this time when when we need to work together to defeat this thing. You can say that China is being too sensitive about this. And while I think that defending their reputation is a worthwhile endeavor, regardless of their actions, referring to the virus as the China virus is callously racist whatever your justification for it.

@derek3266 It's not necessary. It's not helpful. It's mean and it's dickish. I can't stop you from doing it, but if you do it's because you're a POS. And nobody is calling it that unless they want to piss on China for whatever reason. Right now the Chinese are leading the fight against this thing, much more so than any of their detractors. So taking advantage of this human catastrophe to shit-talk the Chinese… if it ain't racist, it ain't far from it.
