It's an effective tool of the enemy. That and most of their humor can only be told after the last minority member has left the room.

He was more than a decent senator. He was one of the best. He admitted to some of the accusations against him, and apologized personally to LeAnn Tweeden for the infamous photo of him hovering lecherously over her in her sleep, but stated that other accusations were not described the way he remembered it. He went out of his way not to defame his accusers but asked for a fair hearing in the ethics committee, which he was denied primarily to avoid an appearance of hypocrisy by Democrats as they eviscerated Alabama Republican Ray Moore for his history of sexual misconduct. I don't know if he could get passed the incident in another attempt at a Senate seat. The campaign is grueling, and already Minnesota has two Democratic Senators and there's no way he's going to challenge one of them for their seats. My own fantasy scenario involved Klobuchar getting a cabinet position and Governor Walz appointing Franken to finish her term, but that's not going to happen.
