So your contention is that the Great Game is over?

I think the Russians would have an immense advantage in maintaining and replacing equipment. While raw numbers are huge when it comes to war, if India didn't roll over the Russians quickly I think they would lose their ability to repel Russian air support at which point they'd be ground up.

@tusk3260 While an alliance between Canada and Russia would be nothing to scoff at, I think you greatly underestimate the American military, especially considering that the northern front would be easily supplied and the vast majority of the Canadian population lives within a hundred miles of the U.S. border. Ground occupation would swift and overwhelming. Russian support would have to come either across the Arctic ocean or through eastern Siberia. It's hard to supply through the Arctic in the winter and hard to supply through the tundra in the summer. Canada might get some initial penetration because the bulk of American infantry and armored cavalry divisions are in southern states, but American air superiority in North America would be total unless the Russian air force completely relocated to northern Canada in which case it would be merely nearly total. An all out push might make it into Pennsylvania but I'd be shocked if it got all the way to Washington.

@tusk3260 I fully respect the geography of Canada—rugged mountains in the west, lakes and prairies in the central regions, permafrost in the continental north, archipelagos in the northeast that rival Indonesia in their complexity. I think the difficulties of taking and holding territory in greater Canada would be the same limitations to supplying it whether it was supplying American forces from the south or supplying Canadian/Russian forces from the north. In most of Canada's population centers though, the logistics would favor the Americans over Russian support. There's not enough of a supply line from the north coast, and certainly not year round. And while we can debate your disdain for American military hardware I don't think you can credibly argue that within a few days Canadian forces encroaching into American territory wouldn't be engulfed in its sheer quantity. I think the biggest advantage such an invasion force would have is the initial reluctance of the U.S. Army to charge tanks through private property. Once we got over that hang up I think the Canadians would be toast.
