  1.  @nobodyherepal3292  China's sanctioned right now. China would still be able to trade throughout Asia. They might lose trading ability with the United States, Japan and Western Europe, but for how long? Russia's under sanctions for taken back Crimea, it seems survivable.

  2. I really don't see South Korea, the Philippines or Vietnam rushing out to support Taiwan in the event that China decides to advance. That said, U.S. support alone is pretty effective and probably enough to thwart a Chinese initiative for the next five years or so.
