@robertaspindale2531 I agree, but then again, I share your perspective. Iran's critics do not share our perspective. They view Iran as a terrorist nation. They would argue that Iran is engaging in hostile actions with countries they are not at war with through proxy groups like Hezbollah or the Yemeni Houthis and that this is merely turnabout. There were some troubling assassinations in Argentina a few years back that have been blamed on the Iranians. Of course Iranians could point to the brazen assassination of some of their scientists a while back too. Targeted assassination has become a far too commonly used tool by all sides, and frankly, we all need to stop doing this. I'm not holding my breath though.

@ezra5788 Iran's not that small. Granted, they're not the military juggernaut that is America, but they're not some little backward kingdom either. I don't think they could alone stand up to the full onslaught of an American invasion, assuming America had somewhere to invade from. I don't know if Pakistan or Turkey would agree to stage our army.

@monopalle5768 Victory has never been achieved from the air. Bombing galvanizes the defenders. Tanks and infantry with air superiority is the most likely victory combination if you define victory as crushing the enemy's defenses. If you view that as merely phase one of victory, then things get a lot more complicated.

@ivermec-tin666 Iran is not tribal, but I'm not sure Trump realizes that. At some point the rest of the world is going to support somebody who stands up to the United States. Whether or not it's Iran now, I do not know.
