@LarryWater A train route to Lhasa was too expensive, but the Chinese built one anyway. Turning a profit is a fine motivation. But having a national vision is a better one.

@jayt3972 "On the other hand space travel probably will not yield much benefit for the 'investor'." I think that's yet to be determined. I think both projects are worthwhile.
